Taptimal keeps you at the peak of your game, helping you work harder, play better and train stronger.

Who is using Taptimal?

[*] Everybody - the finger tap test is a good indicator of when you’ve overexert ourselves, perhaps from working long hours, getting insufficient sleep, or struggling with mental stress. Use Taptimal to understand when you risk overexerting yourself, or as an early warning that you’re becoming ill.

[*] Athletes - Overtraining can lead to injuries, causing lost training days and missed performance targets. Taptimal tells you when to prioritise rest and recovery to avoid injury and illness, and tells you when you’re at peak performance so you can push for that personal best.

[*] The Elderly - the finger tap test is a good predictor for motor neurological illnesses like Parkinsons and could potentially be an early indicator for the onset of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s. Ask your doctor is you (or your elderly family member) could benefit from using Taptimal to warn of the onset of these neurological illnesses, and as a tool for monitoring the severity of symptoms.

Taptimal is based on the famous finger-tapping test (or Finger Oscillation Test), widely used by clinicians and coaches to determine the status of the central nervous system (CNS). Your mental and physical performance is impacted by the health of your CNS, and demanding cognitive and/or physical tasks are best performed when your CNS is at its strongest.

Taptimal warns when you’ve entered a fatigue danger zone, so you know to prioritise recovery in order to avoid injury or illness. And with Taptimal, youll know when your mind and body are optimal, giving the green light to push for a personal best in the gym, or schedule that important meeting youve been avoiding.

Your central nervous system is affected by several factors, but overtraining, stress and lack of sleep are the key culprits. Getting plenty of rest, a healthy diet, and committing to regimes like mediation and yoga help your CNS recover, prepping yourself for the next round of challenges which life throws at you.

Here’s how to use the Taptimal app: launch the app and place your phone on a flat surface. With your wrist and palm planted flat on the surface, tap on the screen as fast as you can using your index finger (that’s the one next to your thumb). The test is only 10 seconds, so you’ll need to be quick. Use only the motion of your finger…no wrist action – that’s cheating.

To get the most out of Taptimal, use it everyday at the same time – ideally, soon after you wakeup in the morning. Test both your left and right hand. Over time, Taptimal will learn your baseline ability and will tell you when your performance is strong, normal or weak.
